I have been traveling for almost 10 years now and I have visited around 50 countries yet

My enthusiasm for traveling started in 2008 when I worked as a Senior Consultant at a multinational IT consulting corporation in Vienna on a 7-months project in Kiev. My employer gave us the opportunity to fly somewhere else instead of flying home on Friday evenings – I just had to make sure that I would be at my desk in Kiev on Monday morning again.

In Kiev, I lived in the Radisson Blu, and I eagerly collected points which I exchanged in free Radisson stays during my weekend trips, so that I incurred only small costs (mostly for transport and food if I was not able to eat at an airport lounge).

On my first big trip, which was in May 2009, I went to Mauritius. Thanks to my weekly flights to Ukraine, I had not only achieved Frequent Traveler status, I also collected many Austrian Miles & More miles, which I redeemed for a Condor flight to Mauritius. In Kiev, I paid my travel expenses with my American Express Corporate Card, which I had registered for the Membership Rewards Program. I exchanged the collected points in Hilton Honors. So, I got 2 stays and 1 dinner at Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa for free.

This holiday had awakened my wanderlust. I wanted to discover the world…

All my pictures are mostly taken with an iPhone; as I’m too lazy to take my heavy SLR camera with me on my trips (I travel mostly with just hand luggage).

BTW: I got named sabbigator, as I can eat like an alligator when I’m really hungry.

Further destinations on my bucket list:

  • Mongolia
  • China
  • New Zealand
  • Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Serbia
  • Krabi
  • Watervilla at Bora Bora
  • Giraffe Manor in Nairobi
