Dubai is a commercial and cultural hub of the Middle East, it’s a global transport hub, and has attracted world attention through many large innovative construction projects and sports events.
The city is symbolized by its skyscrapers, including the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, in addition to ambitious development projects including man-made islands, world class luxury hotels, and some of the largest and extraordinarily modern shopping malls in the world.
The city of Dubai is situated on a coastal strip bordered by desert and gets very hot. It is dry on the hottest days and humid during the cooler days in the summer.
Dubai, as an Islamic region might have embraced civilization and accepted certain western culture, it has also retained some of its old traditions which means that if you like to visit Dubai, you have to do a little research on its culture and some of their taboos.
Dubai is known for its gigantic malls and is a magnet for shoppers. Dubai Mall is the largest mall in the world by total area. The Dubai Mall contains more than 1,200 shops. You must have seen it, just because they are at the foot of the Burj Khalifa and you should not miss both. The Dubai Mall is very nice bright and also includes countless restaurants. Always higher, more and more modern, more and more – Dubai is the city of superlatives. No wonder the tallest building in the world is here. Incredible 828 meters, Burj Khalifa rises up in Dubai and proudly bears the title of the tallest building in the world. An absolute must-see is a visit to the lookout platform on the 124th floor. No viewing platform is higher than that of this landmark, and its striking shape extends far into the Arabian sky. During the day, the glass façade glistens in the sun – at night you can see the architectural masterpiece sparkling in the distance from afar. The entire building can be illuminated in various colors and shapes as required. On national holidays and New Year’s Eve the building becomes a single art of fireworks.
A desert safari is one of the best things to do while in Dubai. Racing over dunes and kick up the desert sands on an adrenaline-pumping 2-hour quad bike adventure. This was So much fun. Cruising into the desert by 4×4, and hop aboard on a quad bike for a once-in-a-lifetime dune bash. Feeling the sand slip under your tyres and speeding across the desert plains is fun.
Another option would be renting a 4×4 and joining the many growing 4×4 clubs in the UAE, but only if you’re an extremely experienced driver and hold an international driving license.
