Los Angeles – City of Angels 🇺🇸

There is so much to love about Los Angeles that you might find yourself bewildered with its obvious and hidden beauty. No, it is not like what you see in television or the image that La La Land showed you; it is beyond that and has a lot more to it then what the movies have to show you.

Los Angeles, California is the second largest city in population, after New York City. It has several nicknames. One is simply the city’s initials, L.A.

Los Angeles is so vast that you will find exploring it on foot too hard. It has no center and you will find yourself lost in the most amazing bars, restaurants, museums and much more. The Down Town is an incredible place to be at but you definitely do not want to miss out on the hiking hills and the glorious beaches. There are a lot of cities residing within Los Angeles. The city is called LA for a reason; it is split into two parts. It has the Valley area and the Basin area. In the Basin, you will explore suburbs and beach fronts. For instance, the Beverly Hills and West Hollywood reside in it.

Los Angeles is a super big place so don’t imagine wandering off within it, without a proper transport system. You are definitely going to need a car. The Highways in LA are worth driving on as they wrap in immense beauty in them. These can only be experienced through a car and you literally don’t want to miss out on them. The Angeles Crest Highway and the Pacific Coast Highway is super amazing and worth driving through.

It is weird that as big as LA is, there is no proper subway system like London or New York. However, it is not falling behind in a good transport system though. The incredible metro lines, efficient bus routes and two major bus ways are more than enough to do the job for you. Metro is going to be a sensible decision to make if you are planning to visit Down Town, Little Tokyo, Universal Studios and Pasadena.

The most important thing about Los Angeles is that you need to understand that Hollywood, West Hollywood and North Hollywood are not related even close. West Hollywood is a separate city from LA and you need to pay really close attention to this fact when you are making bookings or reservations. Another important thing to know is that all the destinations that are amazingly famous in LA are not the best ones. This might sound weird but a lot of beautiful and eye catching destinations of Los Angeles are not mentioned on the top list. The place is a lot more than just bars and clubs and restaurants.

The Huntington Library, Grand Central market, El Matador State Beach and the Griffith Observatory are incredible places to visit and offer you a lot more greater scenes than the famous places. All tat you see in movies in not the real Los Angeles and you need to look beyond it. This is why a little research before you visit the place in actual will make your visit much better and pleasing. Get away from the bars and Hollywood area for a bit and escape on the Highways, beaches and all those places which promise to deliver you peace.

My last visit was in summer 1999 – but I’m looking forward to come back in September 2017 🙂
