Before I left Tokyo, I took a two-day tour to Mt. Fuji and Hakone. During this tour, I rode on the bus as it climbed 2,300 meters up Mt. Fuji. We were so high up that I thought that it was almost possible to touch the summit itself. After the climb up the mountain, I was able to go on a cruise of Lake Ashi and ride the Mt. Komagatake Ropeway to see aerial views of the Hakone National Park. I loved having the freedom to explore Hakone by myself for an entire day, but I think that my favorite part of my time in Hakone was spending time at the hot springs.
At the end of my two-day excursion, I rode the Shinkansen bullet train back to Tokyo, so that I could continue with my vacation in other parts of the country.
